Instructor: Taught middle school and high school aged campers welding, fabrication, blacksmithing, and foundry in
 a Montessori style educational environment.
Supervised and managed a staff of 3 other instructors.
Shop Maintenance: Kept the Sculpture Shop functional and in compliance with fire codes. Built and/or repaired 
anything that might have been needed or saw that they were fixed by a professional (electrician, repairmen, etc.) if 
the job was beyond my skills.
Purchasing: Bought anything that was needed: supplies, consumables, tools, etc.

Studio Art Technician 2010 – 2016
Student resource: Used my knowledge and experience to help students accomplish their goals.  When the 
occasion arose, taught proper skills and techniques to students.  This included instruction on tool use and aid 
during and outside of class, and specifically scheduled stretcher bar building workshops at the professor’s 
request.
Post Baccalaureate supervisor: Instructed and trained the Post Baccalaureate Teaching Assistants, monitors, and 
student techs to use them as assistants in safety, keeping order, and helping undergraduate students.
Gallery Shows: Assisted with, and facilitated the transportation for, and the installation of the 6 yearly shows in the 
Dreitzer Gallery.  
Safety: Created a safe environment from both physical and chemical hazards.  Instructed students on proper 
safety with regard to tools, waste, and any other hazards.
Building Management and Maintenance: Kept art Studio buildings, functional and in compliance with fire codes. 
 Ensured that waste was properly disposed of, built storage racks, furniture or anything else that might have been 
needed.  Fixed tools, furniture, or any other broken things or saw that they were fixed by a professional 
(electrician, repairmen, etc.) if the job was beyond my skills. 
Purchasing: Bought anything that was needed: class supplies, consumables, tools, food for openings, capital 
improvement materials, etc.  Worked with Academic Administrator to ensure necessary allocation of funds.  Kept 
accurate and detailed records of every expenditure.

Used wax-working, mold making, welding, fabrication, kiln operation and maintenance skills to assist in the 
creation of lost wax glass castings for clients.

Attended weekly Student Government meetings and was the voice of the Sculpture Department.
